a Cotton Bowl victory . December 17 — we left in droves (only six students itijured in accidents) to get ' ' Home for the Holidays ' ' (a jew sneaked away early pretending to have jobs) . . . After Santa Clans visited, a few watched the Cotton Bowl victory on TV . . . the less fortunate tuned in via radio . . . the most fortunate were in the band. The return to campus wasn ' t too cheerful as exams loomed ahead — some took them pretty seriously while others . . . sly fellows. I ' m almost asleep on my feet from all the rush parties. And how West Campus jumped for two weeks since all C Freshman men were ' ' urged to participate — 38 ' .( of the class pledged. Vying with this excitement was basketball — that is, basketball with U.N.C. . . . Everyone had a heyday at the game and afterwards charging and defending — Broyden stuck by his Alma Mater a id flayed away at Hey man . . . but Sports Illustrated came to the rescue saying Carolina was sore because Hey man hadnt taken McGuire ' s ' ' underground railroad to Carolina.
