Herberg, Kaufman, and Hopper descended on campus (thanks to Symposium Committee) to discuss — not without flaring tempers — ' ' Post Christian Man. For the three days of their November visit students attended panels and speeches and digested new thoughts in late hour bull sessions. and spirited. Sunday afternoon religious rituals are well attended by the student body. O. K. boys, when I give the word we all rush the Beta house and you know what to do.

Meanwhile the Chronicle re- turns to two issues . . . Sororities rush The Ambassadors bic A Durham fall without rain — Yes! and how we enjoyed football in the sun (only one game in the rain) . . . the Duke gardens . . . the tennis courts . . . Mother ' s . . . the rock . . . the Eno. But it poured on Dink Bow Day as the Freshmen invaded Card Gymnasium for the dance which replaced the traditional games and picnic. Gals on East inanaged to survive rush between tension, heat and studies — what excitement as every sorority pledged the ' ' best freshman girls.

Socially — Four Freshmen crooned . . . BOS-Sandles danced to the Larry Wooly Combo . . . Shoe ' h Slipper enticed Les Brown and the Glenn Miller Band to campus . . . Dad ' s Day. Culturally — Sunday organ recitals in the Chapel . . . Chamber Arts brought the New York String Sextet and the Hungarian String Quartet . . . Young Artists Series brought Rey de la Torre . . . Dad ' s Day Concert . . . Marcel Marceau and Vronsky and Babin starred in the All-Star Artists Series . . . Duke Symphony Concert . . . Grover Smith (professor of inclusive tastes ) gave a Last Lecture . . . Student Union brought Benjamin Mayes who sav integration as next step in race relations (grave foreshadowing) . . . Frog Wood sponsored by the Wesley Players enjoyed a big success. and Les.
