Foreword Herein we present the thirty- first volume of Duke University ' s Chanticleer. It is a war-time olume, and the finished product, therefore, is quite different from the original plans made last September. Yet, we hope that you will find in this book a portion of that spirit which is Duke and vhich makes us lo ' e our University.
