Reorganization ldecember, 1927, a.joint meeting of the Educational Com- Ami mission of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian bynod, the gjirh 5, Board of Trustees of Erskine College and the Board of Trustees of the VVoman's College of Due VVest was held at Charlotte, N. C. It was recommended by the Commission and unanimously adopted by the respective Boards that Erskine College, Erskine Theological Seminary and the YVomanls College be co-ordin- ated under the title of Erskine College, with equal advantages for both young men and young women. In accordance with this plan the charter of the old organization, Erskine College, has been amended to include the above co-ordinate units. Each college has its own campus and buildings, its separate stu- dent body and institutional life, The work of the two colleges is con- ducted more or less independently by a common faculty, upon whose rec- ommendation the trustees of Erskine College-the new organization- confers upon the students of both institutions the same degree. Neither preparatory nor graduate departments are maintained by either institu- tion, but the graduates of both are accepted for post-graduate Work by the leading colleges and universities. Erskine College since 1925 has been a member of the Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools of the Southern States. The Woinztiils College of Due West is therefore in its relation to Erskine College what is known co-ordinate institutiong and as such enjoys all the advantages afforded by co-ordination with the additional advantage of an independent academic and institutional life.
