Iu Wlemoriam Dr. Mark Anthony Smith served as the Super intendent of Bibb County schools for seventeen years, during which time he inestimably helped public edu- cation in Bibb County. Hughes Vocational School is greatly indebted for his personal interest in voca tional education. At the time of his death, he actively belonged to multitudious civic, honorary, and service organi- zations, in many of which he held major offices. Because of his numerous real and permanent con- tributions to the well-being and growth of the total community, the memory of Dr. Mark Smith will ever linger.
