Sater and a class play dlrected by Mr Kre1tzer On Apr1l23 the Jun 1or Class were host to the sen1ors at the annual banquet and prom at the Amer1can Leg1on Club Our sponsor was M1ss Sater Our class off1cers were Melv1n Meyer Pres1dent Mar1e Freyberg Vxce Presldent Robert Thacker Secretary and Martha Bauer Treasurer Class reporters were Barbara Meyer and Theodore Conrad On August 26 1953 we reassembled to complete our quest for a d1ploma We were sorry to hear that Delores Loveall would not be wxth Mrs Henry Seger replaced M1ss Pr1ce Mrs Rasche returned t the Mus1c Department and Mr Henry Seger replaced Mr Chapman H1s f1rst off1c1al act was to d1rect the Semor Class Play Lady Sp1tf1re presented on October 2.9 and 30 Mrs Rasche d1rected the band and majorettes as they appeared as one of the 78 bands at the annual h1gh school day at the Ind1ana vs Marquette Football Game at Bloorn1ngton Our off1cers were Theodore Conrad Pres1dent Gladys Sextz V1ce Pres1dent Barbara Ann Meyer Secretary and Bern1ce Kluesner Treas urer Marlene Terw1ske was elected basketball queen and Barbara Meyer and Ruthann Sch1ller were the sen1or attendants She was crowned at the Shoals Game on December 4 1953 Queen for the Hol1day Festlval at Huntmgburg was Jenn1fer Stamm E1ght sen1or members of the Beta Club attended the Convent1on at the Kentucky Hotel at Lou1sv1lle Mar lene Terw1ske served as yell leader for the th1rd consecut1ve year was the Drum Majorette Ruth Fuhrman was selected as the DAR Good C1t1zen of Dubo1s H1gh School On Apr1l Z5 1954 we had our Baccalaureate Serv1ces followed later that week by Commencement We recewed our d1p1omas under our motto wh1ch read Success AWa1tS at Labor's Gates We know that Mr Z,ehr our sponsor and Mr Kre1tzer our Pr1nc1pa1 breathed a s1gh of rehef at our departure but w1th us a consc1ousness rerna1ns of 1mages and precmous thoughts that shall not d1e and cannot be destroyed 3 XX X is VDQQ IJ -ff ' 11 .
