THE CLASS PROP!-IECY Well, it seems that I'm not the only one who went to High School just for nothing. Right after school was out I fOleavia Kieffner, be- came a farmer's wife. Yes, I married that farmer, saw miller plus a truck driver by the name of Victor Zehr. While I had to stay home on the farm, Hwas traveling from place to place tending to his ' business affairs. As I was on the farm now for such a long time, I decided I needed a vacation and thought I'd go to my little home town of Haysville and while there, I'd try and hunt up some of my class- mates with whom I had gone to school. I found out that it was quite a difficult thing to do. While at home I was told my next door neighbor and best friend Janice Hoffman also got married to that farmer QClarence Sendel- weckj with whom she had gone with so many years. While her hus- band was at home doing the hard work, his wife was taking it easy working at a factory in the nearby city. While visiting my Aunt I had found out that my cousin the very Miss Dorthy Mae Meyer had her way about taking a business course and is now the Editor of the Indianapolis Star. I know she is well fitted for that job because she had what it took when she was Editor of the Dubois Jeep Ili.. I decided to visit for a day in Dubois and while visiting there I really was surprised to have heard what I did. It could have been gossip too. I guess, but I took it for granted that it was the truth. Well anyway, there were the two Friedman girls, in-ng and Sara Laps. Both are married now. too. Six- Jane Friedman fnow Striegelj is living on a farm with her in-laws raising Fall and Winter onions. A-n-xg and her husband Leroy Mathies. the owner of a big Chevrolet Garage in Dubois are living very happily together. Anna herself enjoys filling the automobiles up with gas and air, while Leroy does the mechanical work which makes him use his brains quite a bit but he doesn't mind it. I happened to think about Pauline Goodman and was ready to go and visit her when I was told that she also got hitched after school to Amos Dorsam, the soldier. She is now traveling from coast to coast trying to keep up with her husband at Army Camps. I don't blame her. 'I asked some of my friends about Josephine Eisenhut and was a little surprised at what I heard. Josephine didn't get married but is staying at home with her Mama, relieving her of all the hard work. She still has her seven days a week dates with that he -man Richard Lottes. I decided to visit lg- since she didn't live far from Dubois ljust across a bridge and a railroad track, and sure enough I found her at home. I asked her about Leora Campbell and she said that she's going to college. I thought to myself. Leora , being a very ln- telligent young lady, did what her little heart desired. She's going to college and is really learning to be somebody. A-or fl. rs, , Lei -ali. .s
