After six weeks of intensive rehearsal, the cast, crew, and director of the DHS Drama Department presented three one-act plays for the public. The high school auditorium was the setting for the November 13 and 14 performances. Breaking Up Is Hard To Do by Dennis Shee, The Who and Inside Out by Michael Seanlar were produced for full-house, receptive audiences. Following the production, the Drama Club members took a short break before beginning rehearsal for the State Theatre Festival. The group competed Dec. 4- 5 in Riverton. Scott Nishwitz, our one-man stage crew, brought home the Golden Screw Award for best stage crew! Stacey Oard was awarded Honorable Mention and Amanda Carter was chosen for the All-State Cast. According to Director, Ms. Flanagan, the Fall season was a tremendous success!

MM U.N. After many mornings and evenings of preparation, six DHS students were off to Laramie to participate in the Model United Nations. The October 23 event took place at the University of Wyoming. Andy Carter, Kent Cole, Jennifer Nelson, Tom Hinerman, Scott Nishwitz and Dustin Ralston began the study of their simulations in mid September and during the next few weeks, spent more than 20 hours of their free time in preparation. Andy, Kent and Scott represented the Japanese government responding to a simulated North Korean attack against South Korea, while the interests of China were represented by Dustin, Jennifer and Tom in a simulated South African incursion into Angola. The resolutions drafted by both groups showed a solid grasp of the positions of the other nations involved, according to Mr. Zecher, as well as an ability to devise alternative strategies in response to rapidly changing conditions. 14 Though Model U.N. is not a competition, Mr. Zecher commended DHS students for a performance that was among the best of the schools participating. Members were (1) Back: Mr. Zecher (Advisor) Tom Hinerman. Dustin Ralston, Jennifer Nelson. Front: Kent Cole, Scott Nishwitz. Andy Cdrter. (2) Dustin Ralston found in his natural habitat.
