THE 1985 RAM DUBOIS JR-SR HIGH SCHOOL DUBOIS, WYOMING Dear “Ram” Fan We hope you enjoy the 1985 RAM yearbook! We decided to try a new way of setting up the annual, one that might be a little more interesting than the average. Since the school year went month by month, we arranged the yearbook the same way. September sports and activities all show up in the September section, as do the pictures of all the kids born during Septem- ber. Some of the year-round activities (like Student Council) are spread out in different sections of the book. We did our best to include everyone and to get pictures of most of the events of the year. We want to express our gratitude to the nice folk at the Dubois Frontier for letting us use many of their photos. We also want to thank the many local businesses who supported us by buying ads. Hope you enjoy the 1985 RAM! Many highlites appeared during the football year as several boys achieved success and felt that their accomplishments were something they will be able to look back and remember in years to come. They played the game of life and came out on top in some situations that they will have to face in later life. Good luck to each and everyone of these players and may God Bless You. There were many close ball games that were won or lost in the last minute. One of the highlights of the year was the final home game for the seniors against Wind River. Trailing by 15 points in the 4th quarter, the Rams rallied to tie, and win the game in overtime. Kal Jepson was the leading scorer assist man for the Rams. Sam Titterington was the leading rebounder, with Jim Thompson second in both rebounding and scoring. Kal also was named to both the All- Conference and All-Regional teams. With only 4 seniors; Sam Titterington, Kal Jepson, Pat Rose, and Mark Bren, the future looks bright for the Rams. Coach Streyle The 1984-85 Rams JV Basketball team had an up and down season. The team was plagued with inconsistant play throughout most of the season. In most of our games we had parts of the game where we could play with the best of our opponents and other parts where we played poor. This inconsistant play created problems with our record which was 5 wins and 13 losses. The team kept striving for the consistency we needed and finally achieved their goal in the last two games of the season. We ended the season playing our best basketball with solid wins over Wind River and St. Stevens. This upbeat finale showed that we have several JV players that are prime candidates to become solid varsity contributors next year, if they set their minds on this goal and play in the off season. Coach Butkovich • The 1984-85 Rams Freshman Basketball team showed definite improvement throughout the season. Our final record of 4 wins and 8 losses was not as good as intended, but we knew that we were a much better basketuhll team at the end of the season than at the beginning. I see some real promising individuals from this team who, with a lot of desire and more time playing basketball, will become excellent players on future Rams teams. Coach Butkovich 26 JUNIOR HIGH BOYS BASKETBALL Standing L to R: Coach Nusbaum, Andy Carter. Scott Nishwitz. Bill Kellogg. Tom Hinerman. Jeff Day, Kevin Leseberg. Jesse Hancock. Coach Bryant. Kneeling L to R: Steen Finley. Jason Cox. B n Johnson. Stone Baker. Wayne Sanders. Danny Holmes. Travis Stevens. The seventh grade boys basketball team struggled through a tough season. Low numbers, small size and inexperience put them at a serious disadvantage. However, the five boys that did turn out demonstrated alot of courage and learned alot about basketball. They worked very hard, displayed great sportsmanship and never gave up. % Coach Nusbaum For the Eighth Grade Basketball team, the 1984-85 season was time of individual as well as team improve- ment. The Rams won three of their last five games. The team showed steady improvement throughout the season and if their effort continues, we can look forward to a competitive freshman season. The contacts we make with other teams and players will last a lifetime. The impressions we make and the things we say to these other competitiors are a sure sign of our maturity and self confidence and school which we represent. Although winning is most important, one must learn how to win, lose, and play the game before we can make the all important decisions such as; once I start something I will stay with it, I will respect others on my team as the opponent. It is with a great deal of pride and privilege that I play this great game of basketball. 41 BOYS BASKETBALL 42 Some o) the squad. BOYS BASKETBALL DUBOIS RAMS NO. NAME HT.
