THE 1975 RAM DUBOIS HIGH SCHOOL DUBOIS, WYOMING Mrs. Cook’s quilt was of multi-color patchwork on blue. Both quilts con- tained white patches done by people and classes in the school. Thank You To Miss Florence Morse Mrs. Vera Cook For fifty-four years — twenty-seven years each — Miss Florence Morse and Mrs. Vera Cook have taught school, educating and preparing young students for the roles they were to assume in a future society. The 1974-75 school year witnessed the retirement of Miss Morse and Mrs. Cook. Students, faculty, staff and com- munity members joined together to thank these ladies by presenting a community carry-in dinner in their honor and making for each of them a patchwork quilt with each class decorating a patch. At the dinner, Miss Morse and Mrs. Cook were presented with several handsome gifts. Since the traditional idea of an annual dedication is out- moded, the Annual Staff opted a “Thank You” page in- stead. So, to Miss Florence Morse and Mrs. Vera Cook, we offer a big. heartfelt thank you for a job well done. We ap- preciate your dedication. Miss Morse’s quilt was of multi-color patchwork on pink. r 2 Contents Administration and Faculty.......................4 Seniors .........................................8 Classes ....................................... 19 Sports..........................................35 Activities .....................................49 Advertisers.....................................69 Julie Allison......................................Editor Jean Hein.....................................Copy Editor Bev Lang..............................Business Manager Miss Kennedy......................................Advisor Staff Ann Hayman Jacki Blakeman Lew Poole Glenn Buff Photos Mr. Herb Lehman Mr. A1 Keinert Mr. Lyle Irons Mrs. Cynthia Boyhan Leslie Charles Chuck Killion Glenn Buff Mr. Ron Manley Photo Club Members 3 Administration _ Principal Superintendent Mr. Merv Lindscy Mr. Richard Hodgson Board Of Education Fremont County School District 2 Chairman: Roberta Milton Members: Robert Grubb, John Steele, Dode Stagner, Walter Bell, Jr., Cynthia Boyhan Before, during and after a school year, the school board must func- tion as a governing body of a school district. Among the club’s various activities was a special pep assembly, complete with races and a skit, honoring the girls’ basketball team previous to its district basketball tournament in Lander. The girls were touched by the boys’ thoughtfulness. “D Club also held the traditional Saturday evening movies at the school for a money-making project during the year. The guys prepare the girls for the relays during the special assembly for the girls’ basketball team. 54 Ski Club Dubois High Ski Club was hampered greatly by poor weather, lack of participation and general bad luck this past year. The club held three bake sales and made enough money to enable it to contemplate a trip to Jackson. However, plans fell through and members couldn’t go. Several students did manage to sneak away on trips of their own which only goes to show that nothing can keep a skier off snow if he wants to ski! Toward the end of the season, members made plans for a special Ski Club dinner to be held at the Rustic Pine Steak House. BACK ROW. L-R: Mike Kelly. Bruce Carter. Laurie Hawley. Cindy Stevens. Charter members in- clude Chuck Killion, Bob Brewer, Julie Allison, Leslie Charles, Kathy Milton, Jean Hein, Jacki Blakeman, Kim Kellum, Marrilee Strasser and Carol Strasser. The purpose of the German Club was to offer an academic ac- tivity to the Dubois students of the German language. Gram- mar. reading, writing and other learning activities were studied by the students in their German classes, leaving the more fun aspects of language study for their club. Cultural components, foods, architectural features, fashions, tourist attractions and travel facilities were only a few of the more interesting things the club studied. The team did well during their 11-meet season, tak- ing a second in sweepstakes (over-all points) in Sheridan, a third in sweepstakes in Buffalo, a third place in extemp in Buffalo, a sixth in debate at Sheridan and placing within the top eight at the State Speech Meet in Casper. 59 BACK ROW. Pastor Karl Evers began the ceremony by giv- ing the Invocation and was followed by Carol Strasser and Chuck Killion who presented the salutatorian and valedictorian addresses. The Dubois High School Chorus sang “We May Never Pass This Way Again,” the senior song, and “Graduation Day,” a song that brought a few tears to seniors’ eyes. Following the choral performance, Mr. Hodgson introduced Dr. James Anderson as the commencement speaker. Dr. Anderson began his message with a few brief, humorous reminiscences of themes the graduates had written when in the third grade. He then spoke on the future rights and responsibilities of the graduates. Awarding of diplomas by Mrs. Roberta Milton, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Hodgson followed the com- mencement address. Pastor Evers closed the ceremony with the Benediction and the Seniors of 1975 were presented to the audience as graduates of Dubois High School. Let me live in a house by the side of the road. Where the race of men go by— The men who are good and the men who are bad, As good and as bad as I. I would not sit in the scorner’s seat, Or hurl the cynic’s ban;— Let me live in a house by the side of the road And be a friend to man. I see from my house by the side of the road, By the side of the highway of life, The men who press with the ardor of hope. The men who are faint with the strife. But I turn not away from their smiles nor their tears— Both parts of an infinite plan;— Let me live in my house by the side of the road And be a friend to man. I know there are brook-gladdened meadows ahead And mountains of wearisome height; That the road passes on through the long afternoon And stretches away to the night. But still I rejoice when the travellers rejoice. And weep with the strangers that moan, Nor live in my house by the side of the road Like a man who dwells alone. Let me live in my house by the side of the road Where the race of men go by — They are good, they are bad, they are weak, they are strong. Wise, foolish—so am I. Then why should I sit in the scorner’s seat Or hurl the cynic’s ban?— Let me live in my house by the side of the road And be a friend to man.
