Senior Class History As our school years come to a close, we look back over our four years and remember a few of the highlights, such as our Freshman year, when....there were fifteen of us; Nancy Boedeker, Ron Alexander, Carol Nowlin, Jack Smith, Jon Meckem, Peg Poulsen, Boyd Livingston, Everrett Hower, Dwain Frank, Roy Smith, Ralph Thayer, Lyle Poole, and Hal Goodrich with Dick Stevens enrolling at the last of the year. Class officers were: Pres- ident, Lyle Poole; Vice-President, Carol Nowlin; Secretary-Treasurer, Peg Poulson. We had a rugged initiation at the first of the year, but we also white-washed the DHS on the hill which had been built by the last year’s frosh. This year was the starting of basket- ball lettering for the girls as well as the boys. There was a basketball banquet for both boys and girls, and many in our class received their letters. In our Sophomore year, we had lots of fun...another basketball banquet, and the soph- omore girls served at the Junior-Senior Banquet. They wore Japanese costumes because the theme of the dance was a Japanese Flower Garden. There were still sixteen members in our class, but Ralph Thayer dropped, and Dency Harper, Ken Richardson, and Dave Weber enrolled. Officers this year were: President, Carol Nowlin; Vice-President, Lyle Poole; Secretary, Jack Smith; and Treasurer, Peg Poulsen. During the Junior year we had a regular merry-go-round of activities such as the Junior-Senior Play, the Prom, which had as its theme, “Moonlight and Roses”. We were very proud of this dance, and it was truly beautiful...on the state was an arch covered with climbing roses, and under the arch was the Queen’s throne. The throne was fashioned like a huge American Beauty rose, and there, Queen Carol Nowlin was crowned, with her attend- ants who were Peggy Poulsen and Nancy Boedeker. The rest of the gym was decorated with a stone wall around the dance floor with rose bushes and roses growing out of the stone wall. In the corners of the gym were pillars with climbing ivy. The orchestra pit was under a big arch and the ceiling was a blue sky, with a big star and lighted moon. The Junior-Senior play was entitled “Off the Track”, and was directed by Mrs. Glade. Our class officers were: President, Jack Smith; Vice-President, Carol Nowlin; Treasurer, Peg Poulsen; Secretary, Dick Stevens. At the beginning of our Senior year, there were thirteen members of the class, but Virginia Moore dropped out, leaving us an even dozen. We had our school play, “Commin’ Round the Mountain”, Basketball banquet. The Junior-Senior Banquet, a dinner given by Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Nowlin, and Mrs. Poulsen for the faculty and seniors, a waffle supper given us by the T. O. W. Club, a trip to Casper to the oil fields for some of them, the Music Festival, Mother’s tea, the Powder Puff Panic, Faculty breakfast for seniors and then the big days of Baccalaureate and Commencement. Our Class Colors are Lilac and White. Our Class Motto is “What Time Has Done, No Man Can Undo.” 13 Our Class Flower, Chrysanthemum

Senior Class Will and Testament We, the mighty Seniors of Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-Five of Dubois High School, county of Fremont, School District Number Two, State of Wyoming, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby resolving any other will or wills made by us. ARTICLE I To - The Teachers: We will the last bottle of aspirin, so that they can cope with the coming Seniors. (Double Trouble) To - The Freshmen: We will the ability to get away with murder, because they can’t get away with anything now. (The poor things) To - The Sophomores: We will our ability to get in on things that go on around the school duiing the year. In hopes that they will get in on some things next year, because they have been left out this year. To - The Juniors: We will our position in hopes that they have as much fun as we did in our Senior year. ARTICLE II I, Kenneth Richardson: Will my ability to keep my trap shut to my sister Mary Ellen, if need be. Also will my service number to Mike G. in hopes it will keep me from going. I, Carol Nowlin: Will my job as office girl to anyone that can get along with all four teachers at once, also my appendix to some one so I won’t have to worry about them any longer. I, Ronald Alexander: Will my ability as postman to Pete P. so he won’t get knocked around so much next year. (So his head won’t get so big) I, Boyd Livingston: Will my dancing ability to Earnest H. in hopes if he puts his ability with mine it will help him get along with Leslie. Also will my basketball suit to whoever is lucky enough to wear it. I, Roy Smith: Will my ability to drive, to Bucky F. so he can drive better next year. Also my size 11 Z athletic shoes to Jay P. I, Jack Smith: Will my curly hair to Bucky F. My good looks and ways to Butch. I, Peg Poulsen: Will my ability to get ones in English to Cecil M. I, Nancy Boedeker: Will my position as Editor of the Paper to Bonna. Also, I will my position as baton twirler to Bobbie P. I, Jon Meckem: Will my ability as ship foreman to Butch Stagner. I, Everrett Hower: Will rry ability to get good films for the school to Gerry L. Also, my voice to Gerry L. Hope he will make the chorus. I, Dwain Frank: Will my ability as a teller of tall tales to Chuck B. Perhaps he can think of some angles I haven’t. 14
