dhe 1964 nnua Duf) in Jfiy i School proudly presen Is UAe JKapIe deaoes l ore wo ref With the hope of preserving memories of your high school years, the 1964 Maple Leaves is presented to the students and to the faculty of Dublin High School. Each year the graduating class leaves behind these familiar halls and begins a new segment of development in much the same way as winged seeds leave a maple tree to take root and grow. This high school is the strong trunk with many branches bearing leaves. This year’s leaves, which comprise the activities, subject matter, and events, change a barren tree into a full and well-developed one. The Annual Staff ' s deepest wish is to leave a permanent record of these FALLING LEAVES OF GOLDEN MEMORIES 2 OUR SCHOOL LIFE COMES AND GOES AS DO THE ( Jiew of 0 ur JKapfe 6 j 7 OUR LEA VES OF GOLD BUILD 8 HARMONY AND LEADERSHIP 9 We CPause Jo m J. An individual who is a recipient of a dedication is one worthy of our praise and respect. It is with deep gratitude and humble respect that the Annual Staff and student body of Dublin High School proudly dedicates the 19 64 MAPLE LE A V ES to ROBERT R. YOUNG. Mr. Young has led his students into a world of the past and thereby enabled them to see the future. He has kindled a flame of knowledge which shall burn in the eyes of his students. Yet, he is more than a teacher. He is an under- standing friend and helpful supporter. For this and far more, we truly and deeply honor a teacher and a friend, ROBERT R. YOUNG. 15 Falling Leaves of Golden Memories A majestic Maple stood serene and tall Lifting its branches to the sky, And as its leaves drifted to the ground, My inward thoughts soared free and high. The falling leaves formed a pattern gold As each past memory fled by, And soon there remained naught but the shimmer As moments of yesteryear drew nigh. Those hours and days in lofty hallowed halls Form now for me a golden view. Great falling leaves of days gone by Glow brightly with an ardent hue. Twas in those hallowed halls I sought and learned The mystery of the age of time. And there I wisely found the strength of knowledge That helped me in my upward climb. Ah now, dear stately tree of golden leaves You summon days of yesteryear. I thank thee for this glance of moments gold, For all that I now cherish dear. 16 ADMIN IS Our Principal MR. N. P. WAITING j M FOR IS YOU 80 W. Main Open any night by appointment The inventions of Thomas Edison have affected the lives of people every- where. They have created entire industries — ours, for example. Under America’s Free Enterprise system, inventive people like Edison can expect special compensations — profit, honor and satisfaction. The hope of attaining such rewards has been one of our nation’s greatest incentives to progress. It is a goal that prods imagi- native minds in their quests for new products and methods. Not everyone can be a Thomas Edison. However, every trained, dedicated graduate can anticipate a full measure of our society’s rewards. All it takes is a willingness to work harder and contribute more.
