HG EECO GMICS President Beverly An: Colvin Vice President Mary Colvin Secretary Rhoda Britt Treasurer Winnie Carter HOME ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT The Home Economics Cottage is a brick building and consists of a sewing labatory, foods laboratory living room bedroom and bathroom There are four years of Home Economics offered In these years girls and in planning and making clothes for themselves and their family They re ceive training in home living child care, health and personal development and also traxmng in care and beautification of the home The girls in high school who are enrolled in Home Economics belong to the Future Homemakers Club ln this club the programs are planned on subjects of interest to the girls Every girl participates in these prograrns In the club the girls become familiar with parlxmentary procedure Miss Maurme Hedgepeth is head of the Home Econo-mcs Dept RATTLER - 1947 pq, 43 receive practical training in planning, preparing and buying foods for the family

XE, ,g17 ' THE LUNCH ROOM The present lunch room had 1ts first begmnmg about 1938 39 when the student lunches were supplemented by soup twlce a week wxth cocoa, fruxt, or candy each day m the gy-m Then the demand for hot lunches arose and the present lunch room was organ lzed 1n 1940 under the auspices of the P T A and Lincoln Parxsh School Board It was originally housed rn lower floor of present building but then owned by Cxty of Dubach All work m malung the lunch room possible was furnxshed by W P A , and P T A The equzpment was mostly donated by cntxzens and a 25?
