A DAY IN THF ' IFE OF THE SENIOR CLASS The customary crow of the rooster breaks 1nto our sleep remmdmg us oi the torture to come As we turn over ln a vam effort to go back to sleep the aroma of baccn reaches us warnmg us to rlse and shlne or have a cold breakfast In our daze we rxse and make a dash for the bathroom forgettlng for the moment that there are several members ln our famxly Returmng from the bathroom we flmsh dressmg eat our breakfast cold by now and begln our Journey to school Halfway to school we meet our favorlte ? teacher W e put on our sweetest srrnle and good mormngs as the rememberance of a test gone by passes through our mmds We then resume our travels keepxng ourselves between her and the blg red apple whlch we had planned for recess just as we walk up the concrete steps of our psychopathzc accomadatmns we hear the loud mouth of our classmate Martha Barnette and as we are wonderlng who she IS argulng with now we hear the bellow of B Ball As we contlnue up the steps we are met by none other than the b1g boy h1mself Mr Warren the prmczpal scratchmg the left s1de of has head wlth h1s rlght hand The clearmg of hls vo1ce IS heard down hall as he grxmly says H1 Doc Then of all the people to run 1nto we meet V1rg1n1a jo Gray Jo Helen Fuller and Uatsy Drlggers maklng thelr dally Journey to the front of the bulldmg to watch the dally a.rr1val of a certaln brxght red plckup truck Then we hear commg down the hall Lydah B1-ztt hstemng to all the goss1p whxch Devonne Hammons knows and thmks she knows That honk of the horn just heard comlng from the outsxde means james Robert Henry IS approachlng As he walks up behlnd jo Helen Fuller she turr and g 1 o a convulslon fhe got out ahve About th1s tlme we hear an awful crash and wonder whether the Roman Emplre has fallen but we turn around and see that It ms only Patsy Drlggers makmg her usual RATTLER 1947 pq., 31 Q, f , .. . -cn .' - ., 6 M, . .. . .L
