RATTLER 19417 CLASS HISTORY In the dlm and dlstant past some l1ttle boys and glrls sat on hard seats watchlng the gr aduat1ng exerclses of the Dubach Hzgh School Questlomngly they beseeched the1r parents ' Why are semors? Are they really as 1mportant as everyone th1nks they are? When assured that semors were really lrnportant people and that they were lmportant because they had gone long days and years to school and that all boys and glrls dreamed of the day when they too could be semors the httle boys and g1rls resolved that some day they too would be semors And so the day came when this group of lxttle boys and glrls started off to school wlth resolve to study hard and long They dreamed of the day when grade school would come to a close They longed for the day when they would be freshmen ln high school They kept ever before them the lmage of then' dreams They dreamed of the day when they would parade ln cap and gown wlth envlous glances of other students followlng them wherever they went They planned how they would act and what they would do on that fall The Freshmen found hlgh school was much different from grade school There were not so many subjects to study but they were much harder There was one subject that was the queerest thlng If you d1dn t know what It was about you just said Let x be It Then flnally you knew what the answer was even though you dxdn t know what It was all about Then there was a subject they called hlstory It was all about dates but not the ones w1th boys And what sophomores they were with the Blazer and all If It had not been for some of the1r members, we never would have made lt through the football and basketball seasons They were excellent space flllers when It came to boostmg the attendance at Dubach H1gh School Because they were ln school attendance was 1ncreased by Z0 They always d1d tell us that numbers do not count so much as qualmty Well they had the quahty too all rlght as we were to fmnd out as they went through hxgh school We also showed Page 15 I , . - I9 morning when they would enter the portals of the Dubach High School as Freshmen. -A n U . Class History fContinuedl our true ability in giving the first sophomore play 'sPigtails . They really did grow up when they became juniors. There never was a class which gave such an excellent account of itself as the juniors did in their class play L.et'er Go Gallagher . They gave the seniors a banquet--and such a banquet! fPardon the personal bragging, please., Then they ushered for the commencement exer- cises, and it is probable if they had not decorated the stage and made other arrange- ments, that the seniors of 1946 could never have been graduated. Never w1ll the hxgh school get through talking about these students during their semor year It seemed that they stood at the head of the classes when it came to putting on the gold trirnmmgs to make the student body of the high school outstanding of all of the high schools around here It is just too bad that they had to be sen1ors and about ready to leave our school before anyone really began to appreciate them as seniors should be appreciated Wonder who will put up the stage scenery when the 1947 seniors leave The best senior play that has ever been given was given by the class of 47 This Night Beware The seniors have done their best this year to make our school one of the best in every way The four years we have spent in Dubach High School will be remembered always and will form a treasured chapter ir our Book of Memories SENIOR CLASS PLAY The Senior Class presented a Three Act Mystery Comedy This Night Beware was given on Monday Febryary 17 1947 The cast included Tod Miller james R Henry PATTLER 1947 D ge M, BQ - PU ll r - 99 . gs . - VU lt ' , , , Marthy Hawk ---------------- 1 ----------------- Martha Barnett
