GAA Drives Towards Sportsmanship Striving to promote athletics and encourage good sportsmanship, the Girls Athletic Associa- tion, which is open to any girl at DTHS, was led this year by Ellen Schue, presidentg Janet Sie- secretaryg fert, vice-presidentg Nina Schue, Rozann Rushing, treasurerg and Mrs. Rosemary Pullis, sponsor. Deciding on Indian Summer as the theme of the annual Homecoming dance and sponsoring a Valentine party were two of the all-school projects undertaken by the 1957-58 GAA. Besides sponsoring social affairs at DTHS, the GAA takes part in noon-hour intramurals with a goal of earning points for awards. The awards presented include the first year award which is a pair of wings, monographed 'tI's and D's and a map of Illinois on felt material. This group of sports enthusiasts participated in Play Day activities at Pinckneyville High School in the fall and Murphysboro High School in the spring.
