DTHS students are always willing to back their teams in athletic contests. They endeavor to sup- port the team in a manner that will help the play- ers perform their best. The link between the team and the student body is the cheerleaders who lead the yells at pep ses- sions and athletic contests. Theirs is the responsi- bility of helping the student body to display good sportsmanship as spectators. At DTHS these cheerleaders were chosen in a democratic fashion by the student vote. The girls were elected from a group who tried out for cheer- leading positions before the student body. Mrs. Barbara Stinson, the girls' physical educa- tion instructor, is in charge of training these stu- dent vell leaders.
