Webster Crewe entered the U.S. Navy in July 1948 as an airman recruit and advanced to Aviation Machinist Mate First Class prior to receiving his commission as Ensign in 1956 Upon completion of Naval Officer's Candidate School in August 1956, he .reported to USS HOLDER fDD-8191 and served as Second Division Officer, First Lieutenant, ASW Officer, and Gunnery Officer. In AUQUSf1959 he reported to USS BOLDCMSQ-454i as Executive Officer and Navigator. He assumed command of the Coastal Mine Hunter, USS BITTERN CMHC-43l, in December 1960. From August 1962 until October 1964 he WHS HSSiQned as a Sonar Project Officer at Key West Test and Evaluation Detachment, Key West Florida. He served as Weapons Logistics Officer on the Staff, Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla Four from November 1964 to January 1967. In February 1967 Lcdr. Crewe reported to DU FONT He is Vflaffled to the former Dorothy M. Saloman of Catonville, Maryland. Lcdr. and Mrs. Crewe have three children: Charles, Lisa and Todd They reside in Virginia Beach Virginia

Gommandin L1 .1 Dfficer Commander Robert H. Small, USN Commander Small graduated from the U.S. Naval -Academy with the class of 1951. After a year and a half tour aboard USS K.D. BAILEY CDD-713i he was assigned as a member of the commissioning crew of USS NORFOLK CDL-17. This was followed by duty as Executive Officer of the Minesweeper USS PILOT tAM-104l. In 1955 he was ordered to the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, California for grad- uate work in Ordnance Engineering. He continued his studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received the degree of Master of Science in 1958. Upon completion of graduate work he was assigned to the staff of Commander Cruiser Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet where he served in Ordnance, Nuclear Weapons and Guided Missile billets, and participated in the Lebanon Crisis during one of the Staff deployments. In 1960 he reported to the Fleet Ballistic Missile Ship USS OBSERVATION ISLAND lIEAG-154i as POLARIS Weapons Navigator, during the early at sea tests and firings, of the missile.This was followed by a tour as Executive Officer of USS ABBOT CDD-6291 and participation in the 1962 Cuban crisis and quarantine operations. He next was assigned to the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, graduating in 1964. In July of that year he reported to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations for duty in the Strike Warfare Division as Assistant for Surface Missile Systems Operations and Readiness. From there he received orders to command of DU PONT, relieving on 2 December 1966. , Commander Small is married the former:Ruth Klein of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. They have two sons, Richard and Andrew, and currently reside in Norfolk, Virginia.
