Wilson, GMGC Second Division Officer Norfolk, V3- Aliquippa, Pa. There are twenty-eight men assigned to Second Division - sixteen Gunnersmates and twelve Fire Control Technicians. Together, they maintain the fire power capability of the ship. The Gunnersmates are responsible for the operation, maintenance and cleanli- ness ofthe three 5 in. 54 cal. mounts, the 3 in. 50 cal. mount, the magazines and the small arms. The Fire Control Technicians are responsible for the operation, maintenance and cleanliness of the fire control system employed by the Weapons Officer in directing naval gunfire support on target.
