Un a warm. sunny day at Shewbridge Field we played our first game against Phillips. That tean1's potent single wing attack was no mystery to us. The victory was ours I2-6. Highlight of the game was a beautiful 50 yard pas- lrom Rithard -lohnson to Luther 'liurner who scored the tottchdown. live met Kelly. our next opponent, at Soldier's Field on a rather chilly day. Featuring the belly series, Kelly proxed lu be a powerlul team as they scored IH points to our 7. 'I he next game was a heartbreaker. On a bleak. rainy day we met Dunbar at Soldier's Field. Richard Johns salt.ourstall'tlLla1'lel'b1icli, received the ball on the goal line. Aided by the superior blocking ol' his teammates Ru hard went all the way lor a touchdown. The linal score was 7-li in Dunbar's favor. Hui Panthers deleated Calumet l2-8 lor our second victory. Star tackle Raphael Ellis recovered two lum- blts and both times ran all the way lor touchdowns. His performance gained lor him the title ol' Prep Lineman ul lllt lliecls. Un a lmlislc but sunny alternoon we met Gage Park at Shewbridge Field.
