WEST VIRGINIA IN DEDICATION MRS. ANNA GRAY The Senior Class grafefully acknowledges The unliring ef- forls and genlle guidance of Mrs. Anna lvl. Gray by The cleclicalion ol lhis issue of lhe DuPon+ian. This we clo +o show. in a small way, our apprecialion for her love and devolion 'ro our class, lhe graduales of l96O. 6 4 f. s-. OUR PRINCIPAL ll' has been asserled +ha+ a piciure is worlh a lhousand words. This is an amaleur ailempl' al word pholography. STUDENT BODY The iirsl piclure I sho1 ' was Ihe mosl imporlanl. ll came oul quile well. Many ilems show up in a piclure nor noliced before. As a slu- den+ body. DuPon+ High is more homogeneous 'lhan any in 'rhe counly. Our young men and women, our boys and girls are from similar sirala in economic. social. and religious backgrounds. We have Meril Scholars and occasionally a ward of Ihe Juvenile Courl. Bul overall, The piciure shows clearly an alerf, friendly. idealislic, and generally, a sludious group. FACULTY The nex+ piclure was a bil' blurred. Two Senior Sponsors slipping inl'o 'rhe back row lale. ruined Ihis prinl. My second shol' was clearer. Show- ing sharply in ihe fronl row were over a dozen youngsiers in leaching, several alumni of ihe school. Backing 'rhem up were varied years of experience. The overall impression of The pholo was a group of adul+s happy in working wi+h youlhg who believe in lhe dignily of 'reachingg Ihal' lessons may be 'Iaughl' by example as well as precepf. By 'lheir choice, several were leaching our youngsiers in This school, ralher lhan in schools nearer lheir homes. I liked 'rhis pic+ure. COMMUNITY This lype of piclure is of necessiiy a composiie. A vasl area musr be covered lo 'Find These various shois. This resulls in some lack of inferesl. The chief 'rie seems To be cenfered around lhe ex- lracurricular aclivilies wilh band and alhlelics in 'rhe foreground. The las+ shof was a flash of 'rhe ar+isI's skelch of 'rhe new school. Rising oul of a former cowpaslure il is +ruly beauiiful. Communily in'reres+ will sei inlo molion +he realily of Ihis pho+o. In lulure years pride and beauiy can enlhuse siudenls, Iacully. and communiiy in 'rheir new high school.
