Deans Prove Most Helpful MRS. VIOLET CAMPBELL, Dean of girls, has a busy schedule to fulfill. It includes giving advice and being counselor to the girls. She seems to always be around to lend a helping hand when it is needed. Her guidance is always welcomed and appreciated. The office assistants who aid Mrs. Campbell in her daily tasks are Gardia Taylor, Barbara Haddad, Julia Hitchcock, and Sandra Lancaster. Some of their routines are filing, writing excuses, and general office work. The deans' office keeps Mrs. Campbell and these girls busy throughout the day performing their duties and assisting both new and old students. 10

QS lf' Mind Mrs. Clifton Scherer has taken over the job of school secretary. There are many tasks that have to be performed by this petite lady. Taking care of school records, filing, and having charge of the book stores keeps her busy throughout the day. Mary Whitlock, Susie Kidd, Lora Harless, Karen Franklin, Nancy Meadows, Nancy Dean, Sandra Johnson, and Connie Hitchcock are all oiiice assistants in the principal's office. They help Mrs. Scherer keep the office in tip-top condition. These future secretaries find that publishing and distributing the announcement and absence sheets, answering the phone, keeping the files in order, and running errands are only a few of the duties to be performed by a secretary. 9

In Giving Advice and Guidance .xit l The Dean of Boys, MR. HARRY DOUGLAS, is a familiar person to the boys at DuPont. Not only does he help the boys with their school problems, but he is willing to give advice on any personal problems that may be bothering them. X fz., ..., 1 : Mr. Douglas is very fortunate in having these girls to assist him in any work he may have to do. They are Bonnie Dawson, Genia Berrier, Sara Norman, Linda Lancaster, and Johnna Lynn Jackson. Some of the girls' routine duties are filing, answering the phone, writing out absence and tardy excuses, and running errands. As you can see, being an oflice assistant is no easy job. ll
