Forewor Haven't we all leafed through the pages of a diary at one time or another? The purpose of a diary is to keep a complete record of the day's events in writing. The purpose of a yearbook is much the same - a record of the school year in pictures and writing. Therefore, I have chosen as the theme for the 1957 DuPontian, The Diary. ' The teenage girl illustrated on the division pages throughout the book represents you. Her activities, her dreams, and her ambitions are much the same as yours. To the underclassmen who have future years at DuPont, study. hard and get the most enjoy- ment you can out of each day, so that each year may be the best yet. Finally, to the seniors, whose record is nearly complete as far as DuPont is concerned, may the future pages of your life be filled with results from the determination and ambitions expressed in the pages of this - your yearbook. 2
