on-ffgr of THE PRESIDENT DRLJQY COLLEGE serzmsrszto 2. Mfssouer To All Members of Hlhe Drury Familyzn Drury is on the threshold of a period of growth and development. The next few years will open new opportunities hitherto unknown and onforseeh., I predict that Wlhe Forty Acresn will receive important and needed new buildings. I forsee the expansion of the faculty both in numbers and in its proiessional quality. l expect that the student body will increase conservatively in size and at the same time it will be selected by steadily increasing qualitative standards. I do not doubt that there will be improvements made in the curriculum and in teaching procedures which will reflect an appreciation of the importance of the liberal arts. l fully expect a considerable growth in the cultural and intellectual climate here--not that more Wegg-headsn ' may be produced, but that the rank and file will increasingly be caught up in the zest of creative mental and spiritual expansion. All this means emphasis upon excellence, If this reading of the crystal-ball proves to be correct,.it will require effort, planning, cooperation, and dedication on the part of all concerned. To this commitment I propose that each man and woman at Drury should enthusiastically give assentp ' ' V ' Sincerely, X. ' ' V Dr. and Mrs. Findlay at a banquet held ' J. F. Findla , in their honor. ,President - V
