Registration . . . a word to strike panic into the hearts of everyoneg faculty members, upper- classmen, and freshmen alike. We enter the Stu- dent Union at our appointed times, and dash madly from professor to professor, obtaining their signatures on our cards fslightly soggy now after being clutched in sweaty palmsj. At last we have all our professors' signatures, and at a dead-run, we hurry to Dean Clippinger's line. But our hurry is for naught, the line un- believably long. As We move slowly toward our goal, scraps of conversation float up to us, No, he didn't sign . . . I don't have enough Phys. Ed. hours . . . etc. Again, we examine our schedule cards and slowly come to the realization that they are totally unacceptable. We are moving along the table now, giving our names and cards to the student assistants. At the end of the table sits Dr. Clippinger, poised, superb, accepting and rejecting the schedules as they are placed before him. Surreptitiously we steal a glance his way. Are those my cards ? No! . . . Yes! The master lifts his pen, our hearts leap up. The pen is lowered a fraction, We grow weak. He's signing them! Oh, joy of joys! We mumble thank you . We will be momentarily dismayed when we re- ceive more cards from the registrar and perhaps a little appalled at the size of our bills, but it's all part of the enigma of Registration. Winding-up the hectic program of registration for the freshmen is Robert Davidson, having his picture taken for the Identification Cards.
