l I GREETING 1 l Whenwman first found his power supreme And by his strength dominions Won, H 3 felt a strange desire to leave A record of the Works held done. The Greeks, the lineage of the gods, Slew dragons fierce and minotaur, While all great Neptunes furious floods Could not submerge their ships of war The Romans nent came on the stage, The sons of Mars and Warriors brave, They soared like rockets in the skies, Whileuvice and folly dug their grave.
