Until his depar- ture this yean Mn Falcon had been a member of the social studies department for many years. His unique style of teaching brought both interest and en- thusiasm to all his classes. He generated numerous class discussions causing many students to express their own thoughts, opinions and feelings on many different topics. Mr. Falcon's original stories, whether true or ficticious, often helped students learn while having fun His main objective was to involve his students in their subject matter He often accomplished this by stating opinions in total contradiction to the norm, or travelling to the extreme ends of conservatism or liberalism. Mr. Falcon was also available to help his students outside of the classroom He has written many letters of recommendation for graduating seniors, and served as a newspaper advisor for several years. He was also a friend to many students, sewing as a sounding board and confidant when a problem arose, or just a friendly face in the halls of Drury. His life and death have touched us all. Knowing him was like knowing a beautiful caged bird waiting to be set free. Feeling as I now do, bits and pieces of a poem I once read come to my mind and I feel its very fit- ting for him. We'll remember you with smiles not tears. We'll remember you with joy not sorrow. And if we can't remember you with love, We won't remember you at all. And so my young friend, we bid you a fond farewell.
