A TIME TO CHEER The Drury Devil, Casey Meyers. An effigy to Hoosac. -4? During this past school year, the Drury Pep Club was very helpful in motivating school spirit. They put on three successful pep rallies to support and cheer on the Devils toward victory. In the month of November, the Pep Club organized Homecoming Week. The various activities that were held were Hat and Sock Day, Crazy Day, Hush Day, and Col- or Day. This year the Homecom- ing Dance was replaced by the Sno-Flake Frolic, which took place on December 11, 1982. The Pep Club assisted in the presentation of the Holiday Pro- gram by dressing up as Santa's elves and by passing out candy to the student body. During the spring season, the Pep Club sponsored Spring Fling Week. The events which took place during this week were Punk Day, Fifties Day, and Reverse Role Day. The goal of the Drury High School Pep Club was to keep the spirits high and also to unite all the students in the school. Left: The Pep Ciub Right: Pep Club posters add life to a pep rally. The 1982-83 school year was a very enjoyable and productive one for the Drury Student Council. Club leadership was provided by President Connie Bond, Vice- President Diana Franzoni, Secretary Shawn Serre, Treasurer Judy Wong and Advisor Miss Anne Piekos. The council con- sisted of forty membersg twelve seniors, five juniors, eighteen sophomores, and five freshmen. The Student Council started the year by having a bake sale-car wash in the beginning of September. On October 30, the members sold poppies for the American Legion and on November 16 they ushered for Drury's first Open House. December was a very busy month, with the Holiday Assembly CT he Twelve Days of Christmasj, and the first Pittsfield Berkshire Council meeting, at- tended by most of the members. February's Winter Carnival was successful, even though the Snow Sculptors did not have much snow to work with. Preppy Day and the Winter Carnival Dance were ex- cellent also. In April, the Council had another bake sale-car wash, and on May 12 they hosted a blood- mobile. To reward themselves for their hard work, all the Student Council members spent the day at Riverside on June 20. The Student Council did a great job and they hope to do an even better job next year.
