People now realize the im- portance of being physically healthy. The Drury Physical Education Department is no ex- ception to this. They attempt to impress Drury students as to the importance of physical fitness. Physical education does not on- ly keep a student physically fit but also allows him to enjoy competi- tion and sportsmanship. These are both of great importance to students as they graduate from Drury and go into the world. YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE ARTS ARTS DEPARTMENT The Arts represent an impor- tant part of life and of the Drury curriculum. They represent the finer things in life and are very important to the formation of well-rounded people. The Arts Department of Drury High School encompasses various forms of the arts. The Home Economics program at Drury allows students the op- portunity to have first-hand ex- perience in such things as cooking and sewing. This experience is in- strumental to students since everyone has to learn to be self- sufficient. The Art Department affords students the opportunity to become more familiar with various types of art. It also enables them to develop talent in artistic endeavors. The Music Department enables students to enjoy and experience music, a great resource. Students have the opportunity to learn about various types of music and it's origins. Industrial Arts represent a very practical study. It allows students to gain basic knowledge of con- cepts which will be valuable in futute years. The Art's are a major part of everyone's life. They should be enjoyed and experienced for the knowledge which we can gain from them. The Art Department is both experienced and learned in their subject areas. RESOURCE ROGM SERVICES SPECIAL NEEDS 5 SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT All students have different Strengths and weaknesses. This is what makes people different and interesting.. The Special Education Department at Drury allows students to further develop those strengths and weaknesses. The teachers involved with this department deal with many dif- ferent types of problems. They aid students in anything from emo- tional difficulties to learning pro- blems. They are able to aid Students in developing more ad- vanced skills.
