In the first meet of the year Drury bombed Frontier by a score of 103-37. Bill Reeves and George Apkin were double winners. Other Drury winners were Larry Potvin, Rich Taskin, Bob Cannity, Art Wilk, Alex Daugherty, Chuck Gaspardi and Ron Chenail. Drury finished second to Mohawk in a triangular meet, beating Hampshire with the score 105-48-19. Chuck Gaspardi got.Drury's only first in the 220. ln the third meet Drury was blasted by league-leading Taconic ll5-25, with George Apkin getting the only Devil first. Drury then took I0 men to the Steele Relays, and the 2 mile relay team of Art Wilk, Larry Potvin, Bob Cannity, and Rich Taskin finished third with an 8:47 clocking. Drury then won three meets in a row, destroying Mt. Anthony 127-13, Wahconnah 97-34, and Monument Mt. 84-l l. Drury then dropped a 95-45 decision to Hoosac Valley. Rich Tas- kin, George Apkin, Chuck Gaspardi, and Bill Reeves collected firsts for Drury. Drury then lost to Mt. Greylock, 93-47, in pouring rain in Williamstown. George Apkin, Bill Reeves, Mike Falcon, and Bob Cannity collected the only Drury firsts. Drury then played Pittsfield on Taconic's new track and lost 100-40, but then the thinclads bombed Turners Falls l l0-30, in a meet that saw Ron Chenail, Bill Reeves, Larry Potvin, and Chuck Gaspardi emerge as double winners. George Apkin, Bill Reeves, Mike Falcon, Chuck Gaspardi, Rich Taskin, Larry Potvin, Art Wilk, Bob Cannity, Alex Daugherty, Ron Chenail, Keith Reimer, and Paul Boillat represented Drury in the Western Mass. Meet. The meet was highlighted by Bill Reeves getting seconds in both the high iump and triple jump, and 2 new school records set, Bob Cannity in the 2 mile, and the 880 relay team of Bill Reeves, Rich Taskin, Keith Reimer, and Alex Daugherty.
