The 1972 Drury Cross Country Team posted an excellent record of only ten wins and four losses. The team finished third in the highly competitive Berkshire County Cross Country League. Despite the fact that they were the smallest school in their division, the team finished a respectable seventh of seventeen at the Western Massachusetts Meet held at Amherst College. The team was by far and away the best in Drury's history, and credit can not be solely given to any one individual for the remarkable change. Junior Bob Can- nity trained all summer long to rise from 5th to lst place, and win IO dual meets. Larry Potvin returned to his fine form of last year and Rich Taskin and Pete Demeo came through with some clutch finishes to win close victories. Art Wilk and Dale Beverly were much improved from lost year, and the performance of soph- omore Ed Flaherty was surprisingly good. All in all, it has to be noted as the premier year of Drury Cross- Country since it began six years ago. Cross C 0 un tr
