Administration ln Oetolier of 1970. the Commission on Public Secondary Education of the New Eng- land Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools visited Drury to evaluate the educa- tional program and to determine if the school was worthy of renewed accreditation. The report was released in Deeemher. It contained 107 commendations and 284 recommen- dations, and was highly eritieal of hoth the physical plant and the failure of the city to provide for a new school. The report also called for abandonment of the old section of the sehool. The commission applauded the efforts of the staff to provide an adequate program within the severe limitations imposed hy the building. but cited the need for new courses. electives. smaller class size, increased use of new educational resources, and a more flexihle. comprehensive program as necessary for accreditation.
