Taylor retired in February 1968 after having been Superintendent of Schools for 20 years in the North Ad- ams School system. He graduated from Northeastern with a B.Ch.E., from Harvard with a M.Ed., and from Calvin Coolidge with a Ed.D. He has helped initiate many new programs in the North Adams Schools. Some of the more important ones are: a full day Kindergarten program in 1950, organization of classes for academically talented pupils in.1959, organization of a class for emotionally disturbed children in 1960, and introduction of a modern mathematics program at Mark Hopkins School. Wilfred M. Gallagher is the new Superintendent of Schools in the North Adams School system. He graduated from Providence College with a B.S., and from Rhode Island College with a Ed.M. He is working at the University of Connecticut for a doctorate degree. Previously he was principal of the Williams High School, superintendent of the Stockbridge school system, and super- intendent of the Berkshire Hills Regional School District.
