IN MEMORIAM Charles H. lVlcCann started the Trade School at Drury High and taught here for twenty years. He possessed a sincerity of purpose and an unyielding devotion and dedication to help and encourage youth, both in school and in industry. In his heart and soul was the idea of a more equitable educational opportunity for the youth and adults in this area. '6lVlr. Macfi as he was known by his students, considered it a special privilege to help each one of his boys grow in confidence, in ability, and in knowledge, sometimes despite their almost over- whelming personal problems. A favorite quotation of Mr. lVlcCann was- I shall prepare my- self-for my opportunity shall surely come. The city of North Adams and the surrounding area suffered a great personal loss with Mr. lVlcCann's death, but the students and citizens will know him always through the school his dream and Ndrive built and through his 'cbeloved boysu whom he brought to manhood. As a teacher he would ask no more.
