McGrory last fall saddened the hearts of the many students and teachers who knew him through the years as teacher and Principal of Drury High School and later as Superintendent of Schools in North Adams. A stoic philosopher and stern disciplinarian, he believed in fair play for everyone and in everything which contributed to the greatest welfare of both student and school. A keen scholar him- seltf he insisted upon a high standard of scholarship and inspired many boys and girls to seek a higher educa- tion. Memories of this steadfast friend, gracious leader and wise counselor will long linger in our hearts. Truly, he loved Drury on the hill.
