The special excursion train from New York City carrying celebrities from all over the world who have come to witness the opening of the North Adams, World's Fair has just pulled in to the North Adams Grand Central Station. Among our worthy visitors are the following:-Mr. Bernard Gilmore. coach of the Milwaukee Cabbage Patch baseball team which won the World's Series, Mr. John De Marco, recently acf claimed World's Champion Wrestlerg movie actors and actresses:-Genevieve Caffrey and Shirley Button co-starring in Blushing Blondes Meet Rigor Mortisg Arnold Witto, the second Van John- song Alfred Corbo who has just completed 'Death Comes to the Archbishop? Academy Award win- ner, Pearl Neice, the former Eunice Perlmutterg Robert Slinderman and Betty Shire starring to- gether in My Double Lifeg Roy Modlinger starring in The Immortal Many Helena Francis who runs an escort bureau for meng Alfred Dolgoff, coach ofthe Bing-Bang Girls' Bowling Team, and Ruth Spencer, Metropolitan Opera singer. As these famous people descend from the train, the mayoress of North Adams, the honor- able Nancy Giusti extends her hearty welcome. Accompanying the mayoress are her secretaries, the Misses Barbara Reese and Louise Vivaldi, RobertBissaillon, noted accordian player, who has just returned from a personal appearance tour of the countryg and Chief of Police Robert Brooks who, acting as a guide, will show the visitors the points of interest. As the group moves on the Hurlbut Plastics Exhibition can be seen. Ladies and gentlemen, the guide states, the outstanding knowl- edge of Mr. William Paul Hurlbut which led to amazing discoveries in the field of plastics is the reason why North Adams was chosen -the most successful city of the year, thus being the scene of the World's Fair. Here you see the famous works of Robert Pierce, the inventor of the new bite-.proof baby rattleg Tom Ferrara's discovery of a plastic backscratcherg the marvelous invention of a plastic toothpick by Albino Cimonetti, and Anthony Melillo's and James Manuel's invention of the all plastic automobile. Now on to the Athletic Building where we find Lorraine Fierro, famous for her Keep Fit with Fierro lessons demonstrating the benefits of proper exercise. Among the participants of her exhibition are: Helen Osborn, who just recently set a new record for swimming the English Chan- nel, Eleanor Keating, wealthy socialite noted for her original parties, and Rita and Anna Pessolano, the famous tumbling twosomef' In the next room fthe visitors see photographer, Mark Murray, taking closeups of Ralph Dickinson's famous aquacade beauties. World known for their back flips and front fumbles are: Nancy Turner, Shirley Thoros, Evelyn Tatro, Shirley Jennings, and Marion Bass otherwise known as the Ripple Quintet, famous for their swimming ballet. On to the next building which is the Chemists' Exhibition under the direction of Rita Daunais. Here can be found the great inventions of Lewis Garenani, multi-millionaire, because of his new process of making a dandruff removing hair tonicg Bernard Beauchamp surrounded by femininity all sampling his exclusive perfumes, the most noted being f'Mais Non. Now on to the fashion show where Sam Martin's famous models are exhibiting clothes designed by Rita Bologn-ani and Pearl Demeo. Evening gowns are modeled by Roberta Whitneyg after- noon dresses by Evelyn Therrien and Dona Vickeryg tailored sportswear by Mary Ann Siciliano and Jean Sharron: summer beachwear by Inez Ruby and Rita Montagna. - Lectures begin in a few minutes so on to the Amphitheater. On the program for today are: Natalie Vadnais, Whose topic is, Six Easy Lessons On How To Wreck A Cary Frances Polurnbo, giv- ing 'a review of her book, How To Live The Life Of Reillyg Herbert Johnson, child psychologist, giving a talk to parents on, The Evils Of Pool Hallsg Harriet and Constance Ashley, telling about their experiences flying over Devil's Island in a B-,293 Grace Vergunst lecturing on, The Dangers of Swallowing Orange Seeds and Dorothy Dunton, explaining The Proper Way Of Bringing Up Mice. Being tired, a group of the celebrities head for the Cafe Slopayt' under management of Stan.- ley Taskin. They are greeted by the head water David Beall. The coats are taken care of by the check girl, Barbara Graham. Wilbur Fox and Francis Torchia can be heard shouting, Cigars! Cigarettesli' As they are seated Gene Breda brings them the menu of the special dinner prepared by their famous chef, Orlando Magnifico. The floor show commences with the famous pianist, Dickie Ziter, tickling the ivories. The selection he plays is by the famous composer Clayton Crews. The master of ceremonies, John DiLorenzo, announces the specialty acts. First is a song and dance routine by James Dougherty. Next is a magician performance by Paul Genesi assisted by Barbara Wohler. Following them are the Fountain twins singing Our Mama Done Told Us. At the conclusion of this delightful duet the spotlight turns to the opposite end of the floor where we see Carol Marie Molloy and Ernest Bianco exhibiting a new dance step called The Flat Foot Floogief' Next on the program is th-e famous Greene-Wilson duet, singing a song of yester- day, Ac cen-tu-ate the Pos-i-tive. Next is a comedy act by Nicholas Mantell-o and Michael Cirulfo. The entertainment is completed with James Mahoney's famous impersonations and the orchestra begins playing for dancing. The orchestra features world famous orchestra leaders:- Parker Allen, Jam-es Nichols, and Ray Collier, and Phyllis Collier as vocalist. At th-e ring.side tables sit: Edward Gleason, captain of the police force in Nashville, Tenn., Lawrence St. Cyr, principal of Drury High School, Lorraine Lussier, Irene Jones, and Marjorie Carl- son, teachers at Drury, Barbara Kirby, head of the science department at Vassar, Robert Loomis who just recently returned from the South Pole, Roger Prince, owner of the Corner Drugstore in North Adams, Ruth Atwood, head of the North Adams Home for Little Wanderers, Marie La- Marre, proprietor of Ma's Boarding House, and Ralph Kenyon, principal stockholder in the High Octane Oil Co. As the dancers glide gracefully by they are able to see Edward Bunting, famous author of How To Win Friends and Influence Women, Barbara Downey, famed cover girl for Police Ga- zette, Elizabeth Salt-amartini, leading lady in the current production Christmas in July, Wil- liam Kirby, photographer for Pinch magazine, Gwendolyn 1Huba! Hubali Mathews, recently voted radiois most comical commedienne, and Louis O'Neill, star third baseman for the New York Giants. Looking over the crowd they decide that this Worldfs Fair could almost be a reunion for the clas.s of 1945 from Drury High Scho-ol. They then begin talking of what they that are not here ar-e doing today-Virginia Moors is a Judgess in the Superior Court, Mildred Burdick is run- ning overnight cabins on the Mohawk Trail, George Costa is a famous movie cartoonist, Thomas Welch is now a missionary to China, George Habersetzer is being kept quite busy lately with his new job as head waiter at the Waldorf-Castoria, Wallace Konopka was recently appointed am- bassador to Yugoslavia, Edwin Rosasco, author of a newly publish volume of bedtime stories, Stephen Amato, heavyweight world champion, Ruth Wheeler, X-ray expert, Dannie Peirce, editor of the North Adams Daily Blow, Eleanor Libardi who now runs her own dancing sch-ool special- izing in the conga and rhumba, Angelina Angeli, sole owner of a chain -of candy shops call- ed 'tSuzie's Sweet Shops?
