Student Council lssther. Nlyra, Ted, Nlarland, and lean are discuss- ing the location of Drumright on the glohal map. Through their STLYUI-'XT CiOL'NCfll work this year they have come to realize the importance of learning to work together in this small world. :Xt the State STL'Dl-'NT CiOL'NCfll. Cionvenlion held in Stillwater in December, the Drumright Organ- ization was represented by Ted Nlcllwain, Myra Fret- well, and Doris Odom. These delegates, accompanied by Nlrs. Apple, spent three days on the Oklahoma A.SlM. Campus attending meetings. Hearing talks by students of other schools and joining in group discus- sions with them, our delegates reah7ed that DHS is a school of which to be proud. In a regular meeting the STUDENT COUNCIL discusses student opinion expressed through representa- tives and makes plans for special proiects during the year. Some of these proiects were outdoor pep as- semblies, News Nlagaline of the Screen, the Christmas Sock Hop, the March of Dimes Talent Show, Observ- ance of Brotherhood W'eek, and Tacky Day. -rf 93 Nl .h ,- '-.iii a . . i ...ff l X 0 ' L' -Q el? f ' l.r,'i: Ti- 'i -In A . Scholastic Honors We were very proud of our HIGH RANKING GIRL and BOY. This honor was given to the senior boy and girl who had the highest grade average for all four high school years. In winning these awards, our students deserve much credit for their diligent work and cooperation. but could they have attained this goal without the helping hand of their teachers?? Mrs. Hess, our librarian, always went out of her way to help a student find material he needed. Her library was a pleasant place in which to study. Mrs. Pinkston, with unfailing good humor, helped in all problems pertaining to her classes and modern day life in general. Her teaching of tolerance and understanding made her pupils more able to live in harmony with their fellowmen. Mrs. Apple, al- ways sympathetic and understanding with all her duties, was never too busy to help a student to under- stand new problems or catch up on work. Mrs. Kane employed all devices and helps such as films, records and posters to aid us in understanding our work. These teachers, in addition to all the others, helped us to win. We are proud of Doris and Dale who achieved the highest honor our school had to offer. lfI5l'I'll I'II'iSS 'I.If'VdYld!l. Central State College, B.A. IOL' ANN lllXf1lfX', Sofia A-S, HAZEI.
