ADMINISTRATIUN S., Q., X., Darwin Kirkman Mr. Kirkman came to D. H, S. in 1947. He had previously directed the band in Shamrock for two and one-half years before entering Oklahoma A. R M. where he received his B.S. degree in 1941. He also taught at A, 8: M. and Tulsa in the aviation department before entering the Marine Corps where he saw service in Hawaii and japan as a radio technician. After his discharge he con- tinued his studies at the University of Maryland. He received his M.S. degree in 1947, whereupon he came immedi- ately to Drumright. Here he served as a director of guidance and as a science teacher. In October, 1948, he became principal of the high school. He is well liked by both students and faculty.
