They whole-heartedly backed the Red Cross Drive, the March of Dimes all-talent show. and the Salvation Army Fund Drive. For assembly they arranged varied and interesting pro' grams, including one of campaign speeches by eager candidates interested in winning the popular vote, and another of an installation service for the newly elected officers. The Christ- mas Sock Hop Party was the councils gala affair and clirnaxed the efforts of the entire representation. From that fall to the present day the band has steadily grown and improved. Starting a full schedule at the beginning of the school term, the group entertained between the halves .it all the home football games. Coming out of that season of drills and maneuvers, the band presented the Annual Coronation Concert in honor of Miss Dorothy Smith, Band Queen for Iwo' wir, lfj: lf: nglvl, Harvey Xwotitord, Bobbe Sue Stierwalt, Helen Gibson, Dorothy Smith, jacqueline Horning, Mr. Yaiumcyer Sermirl muw Jerry Felts, Edra Macy, John Ishmael, Sue Elliott, Karen Beck, jackie Bell, Maxine Staton, C Pittman, Nancy XX'in.ins Tlwrj mu: Larry Slusser, Mitzi Anderson, john Gailey, Donna Sue Black, Laddie Slusser, Loretta Raibourn, Charles Wboclward, Mary Louise Apple, Donald Dix, 'Ierry Osborn. 19-19-50. This concert was the seventeenth of its kind and, as in previous years, displayed to visitors and top band men of the state the showmanship and musical ability for which Drumright has so often received notable recognition. With the opening of the basketball season, marches were again taken from the music library and placed on the music stands where they remained for all the home games. Spring ushered in a full schedule of events, including contests, festivals .ind clinics, that extended through the month of May. The memorable spring concert climaxed a most successful year of hand activity.
