Congratulations to the staff of l944 for the fine job it has done in upholding the high standard set by the long series of annuals produced in previous years. -A. C. Wiemer. X To the seniors who will soon be graduated, we extend our con- gratulations and best wishes. To the students who will be back, we otter the opportunity for further growth -and development they will need to take their places in society. Many problems now face us, and others'are arising that will demand the idealism, enthusiasm and clear thinking of youth in their solution. We have faith that D. H. Editing a yearbook not only requires cooperation with the printers and engravers but also requires the close harmony of nearly a score of fellow students. The staff has expended time and effort in the hope that the i944 Gusher will be a book that will recall many happy memories and that its value to each of us will increase as time goes on. lt is the sincere wish of the class that the' privilege of editing such a book will be extended to every senior class of this schoolg that each class will cherish that oppor- tunity. The Gusher Staff wishes to thank the members of the faculty and all of the students who have worked so diligently to make this yearbook a SUCCESS. lnvaluable to the staff in offering ideas and suggestions was Mrs. Pinkston, class. sponsor and friend. 5 V ' lr 'C ...g,3:E.,:A.,1 9 23,15 - 's ' Marguerite Gibson tor Sports Editor i ' . It has been wholeheartedly behind every worth- while task attempted by the student body. Some of the successful drives made possible with its help were: Fountain Pen Drive, March of Pennies, Red Cross Drive, Jeep Campaign, and the Victory Queen Race. One of the most successful 'student council projects this year was the building of sidewalks which was ac- complished largely by student labor. The school is very proud of the new sidewalks. A school system which seeks to enlighten rather than to enslave shall ever have the earnest support of the Student Council of Drumright High School.
