Published by Drummonda Annual Class Drummond, Montana 1976 i Honoring class of 1976 1 I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away! With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there. And loyal still, as he gave the blows Of his warrior strength to his country's foes-- Mild and gentle, as he was brave, When the sweetest love of his life he gave Think of him still as the same, I say: He is not dead-he is just-away! --James Whitcomb Riley TROJAN POWER.. . The musical was unique in that Drummond hadn't seen one since the parents of the class. The main plot of the play was the mixed-up romance of Corndoggie played by Dean Bray and Betsy Lou played by Debbie Graybeal. Of course, someone always gets between the two and this time it was Forrest Barret played by Joe Bradshaw. Plenty of action was seen by the audience and they enjoyed the musical to the end. Boy's track was very successful this year, ending up with our boy's being this year's district champions. Many honors were achieved this year. Joe Bradshaw won the Allen Savik Memorial trophy at Charlo for his outstanding performance that day. Pat Glennon broke high hurdles and triple jump, Don Pocha broke both mile and two mile, Ed Coughlin established a new record in the pole vault, and Joe Bradshaw established new records in the shotput and discus. Ted Skinner tied the existing record on the low hurdles. We are again extremely proud of the boy's track. Lori Luoma established the javelin record and broke the high jump record. Betty Bucher broke the mile, and Rene M a nnix broke both of the hurdle records. Nora Geary created a new discus record and both of the relays established new times for the school. Hats off to the girls for their great performance.
