Christmas trees! Fourtn largest shipping point in United States. Largest cattle shipping point for size of town in nation. We the Senior Class of 1952 dedicate our annual to the Lower Flint Creek Valley and all it stands for as pictured here. Drummond High School's letter is the largest high school letter in the state. Captain John Mullen brought fame to the Valley when he jour- neyed through here in the early 1800's. It is with genuine pleasure that I take this opportunity to ex- tend my very best wishes to each of you whose deeds have been re- corded in the 1952 Drummonda. To those of you who will graduate may the years hold much happiness as you go forth to be of service to others. To you whc are returning may the crown of success re- ward you for diligent effort. I am proud of our Drummond faculty and student body. Your coopera- tive spirit and sincerity of purpose is a tribute to your parents and their fine community. To you, the members of the Drummonda Staff and their sponsor, Mrs. Wilson, whose untiring efforts have brought forth this fine, meri- torious year book, I extend my sincerest compliments and congratu- lations. This volume is a splendid tribute to your many sacrifices and cooperative planning throughout the school year. Sincerely, James M. All other wills up to and after this one will be null and void. I, David Johnson, leave a lot of hot air to the boys in high school in hopes it will keep the building warm next year. I, Dolores Dalberg, leave as fast as I can. I, Phyllis Fagan, bequeath that Come Here look in my eyes to Linda Graham. I. Ronald Fuhrman, give my splendid voice to anyone who wants it. I, Ronald Fuhrman, give my splendid voice to anyone who wants it. I, Freddie Holland, leave my sixty laps around the Gym to Bob Barker in hopes he will keep in good shape. I also grant permission to all my friends to come and visit me when I’m a family man. I, Georgia Fischer, will leave nothing because I need what little I have now. I, Bobbie Shanklin, leave my ability to lose all the basketball equipment to next years manager. I, Barbara Perlman, leave my elk hunting ability to Joan Howell. I, Dennis Williams, will my mustache to all the little shavers. I, Fred Weaver, bequeath my desire to be a bachelor to Harold Clute. I, Allen Bradshaw, leave the information to all the faculty that I wasn’t the dunce they thought me to be. I, Lois Wilson, leave with romance on my mind. I, Karen Parker, will my vocabulary to whoever feels capable of accepting it. I, Kay James, leave my come-and-comb-my-hair look to Carol Ann Bradshaw. I, Marilyn Petersen, leave for once with permission. I, Lucretia Tubbs, leave late as usual. I, Charles Fraser, will my ability to burn the Drakes out on automobiles to Fritz Durfee. Class ftiskntj In the fall of '48, one would see a snap-shot of twenty-two green freshmen. In the front row of this snap-shot, he would see Miss Hawkins, sponsor; Jim Palin, presi- dent; Clifford Nelson, vice president; Barbara Periman, secretary-treasurer; and La- Rae Hatch, representative. The other faces are Bob Shanklin, David Johnson, Mari- lyn Petersen, Allen Bradshaw, Georgia Fischer, Fred Weaver, Glenn Hosbrook, Charles Fraser, Lois Wilson, Gay land Lewis, Lucretia Tubbs, Freddie Holland, Dolores Dalberg, Ronald Fuhrman, Karen Parker, Dennis Williams, Carolyn Jordan, and Bernard Jones. About half way through the years Carolyn and Bernard became discouraged and dropped from the picture. Bernards face can now be seen with a group of sailors. The rest of the pictures on this roll of film were taken of initiation and school par- ties that we participated in. As we put the second roll of film in our camera, the first snap-shot is one of a group of nineteen sophomores, who look as though a little more knowledge has been gained. Miss Hawkins is again sponsor and Bob Shanklin is president. LaRae leaves our picture to go to another but returns later. During the middle of the year, Gayland Lewis leaves this picture to join one at another school, but to take his place in our picture is Kay James. Another picture on this film is one of the six boys from our class who were on the main ten on the basketball team. They were Freddie Holland, Fred Weaver, Allen Bradshaw, Clifford Nelson, David Johnson, and Jim Palin. Our class was very proud and happy because so many of our boys made the main team and because they stayed right on top during the next two yean. A third roll of film is placed in our camera and the first snap-shot on this roll is of nineteen Juniors. They look a little wiser than last year. During the summer Jim Palin and Glenn Hosbrook left spaces in our snap-shot, but Phyllis Fagan's picture filled one of the empty spaces. In the front again is Miss Hawkins, sponsor, and Freddie Holland, president. The prettiest snap-shot on this roll of film is one of our Junior Prom decorated in pink and white to carry out the Apple Blossom theme. We took a colorful picture of the Junior-Senior Banquet with the cowboy theme carried throughout. As the fourth and last roll of film is placed in our camera, the shutter first snaps a picture of the nineteen in the graduating class with Mr. Whalen, sponsor, and Freddie Holland, president. There is a snap of a Senior Harvest Ball, and snaps of our Junior friends honoring us with a dance and a banquet. The last picture on the roll of film was taken in the spring of 1952 when we had acquired enough knowledge to receive our diplomas. {'' 'I pnefilecij TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: DON'T READ THIS PAGE UNTIL YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE! 1 Picture No. 1 is Karen, our Valedictorian. She succeeded Miss Hawkins as English teacher. No. 2 is A1 Scoop Bradshaw, who is sportswriter for the Podunk Gazette. No. 3 is Chink who is an eccentric math professor at New Chicago College. For as long as we can remember the seniors on the squad have been point- ing towards this last big year. There was good attendance at all the games throughout the year. Coach Whalen put the squad through rigid training in all the practice sessions. It was this hard work that made the team.
