NEW YEAR'S EVE BASKETBALL DANCE On December 31, the Basketball team, under the advisorship of their coach, Mr. Leach, sponsored their annual New Year's Eve Dance in the School Gymnasium. A large crowd was in attendance and danced from 10 till 2 to the music of Walter Duncan's Swing Foursome from Anaconda. The dance was a huge success. AMERICAN HISTORY CLASS The American History Class, under the guidance of Mrs. Warnke, motored to Helena on February 13, to witness a session of the State Legislature. For most of the students, it was an educational experience, while for others, it was quite a novelty going through the Capitol Building. BINGO GAME AND DANCE The Paper Staff sponsored a Bingo Party and Dance on March 1 to obtain funds for turning out a better and more expensive Annual as a tribute to the Class of 1947. Prior to the games, the members put on a program, replete with music, singing, and story telling. Expensive prizes were secured for the Bingo game and dancing was enjoyed by all to the music of Two Blondes and a Brunette. Mr. Sing acted as Master of Ceremonies and also played drums. SADIE HAWKINS DANCE For the first time in the history of D. H. S., a Sadie Hawkins Dance was held on March 15 in the High School Gymnasium. It was sponsored by Mrs. Warnke and her Girls Club. Chances were sold on a fourteen pound ham and a cake was raffled off at Chinese auction. Dancing was enjoyed to the music of Kreig's orchestra from Maxville.

HOBO PARTY The Freshmen and Juniors gave a party for the Sophomores and Seniors on March 28. All attending the party were to come dressed as hobos. An enjoyable evening was had by all, playing games, eating lunch, and dancing to Kreig's orchestra. Sponsors of the party were Mrs. Wamke and Mr. Sing. JUNIOR PROM On April 12, the Gymnasium, featuring a Moonlight and Roses theme, was beautifully decorated by the Junior class for the annual Junior Prom. The Grand Promenade began at 10 o'clock, before a large crowd, and was led by Junior Class president and vice-president. Bob McCall and Jean Bissonette, respectively. Following the march, Mr. Sing, the Junior class sponsor, deco- rated the head of Arlene Olsen—chosen by the Juniors to reign as the Prom Queen—with a silver crown mounted with jewels and presented her with a corsage of white carnations. Excellent music was furnished by Walter Duncan and his orchestra and everybody enjoyed a pleasant evening. JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET Again, the Juniors of D. H. S., using an Indian theme, honored the Seniors with a banquet on April 23 in the study hall of the high school. A delicious turkey dinner was served by the Catholic Ladies of Drummond. Speeches and bouquets from the students filled the bill of fare, aided and abetted with talks by Junior and Senior class sponsors, Mr. Sing and Mr. Leach, respectively, with Mrs. Wamke and Miss Hawkins completing the faculty's toll of speeches.
