CARNIVAL By the combined efforts of the faculty members and the student body, Drummond High School sponsors a Carnival each year. Each class draws its concessions and the Shop members build the booths. These booths are then decorated with different colors to represent the different classes. This year Miss Clarice Jenkins was elected by the Student Body to be the Carnival Queen of 1946-1947. The Carnival is one of the biggest money-making projects sponsored by the school and the proceeds are placed in the student body fund. THE ROCKY RANGER The traditional school paper The Rocky Ranger under the advisorship of Mr. Sing, has again been active this year. All school news and doings are featured in its publications and it has quite a wide circulation. Comprising a staff of some 18 members, it is edited by Arlene Olsen. GIRLS CLUB The Girls Club, under the leadership of Mrs. Warnke, took a trip to Ham- ilton on October 12, where Girls Clubs from various other towns attended the meeting. Skits and singing were presented, followed by a delicious dinner served in the Hamilton Gym. All the Drummond girls present were initiated into the Home Economics Club. At this writing, the Girls Club is planning a swimming trip to Nimrod. LIBRARY In charge of Miss Hawkins, D. H. S. maintains a small but well-equipped library. Managed by students, it operates very efficiently, even to the extent of fines imposed on overdue books. GLEE CLUB The Girls Glee Club, an old and familiar group, is quite an important fac- tor in school activities, as it furnishes music for the Christmas and Easter pro- grams and also presents a number of selections for the Baccalaureate exer- cises. Under the direction of Mrs. Ramberg, it meets on Mondays and Wednes- days. [ 18 |

THE DRUMMONDA Following in the footsteps of Mrs. Allen, who initiated the first Annual D. H. S. has ever had, Mr. Sing and a picked staff ventured forth to maintain the standard set by their predecessor. Much effort and time was devoted to this cause and the finished product speaks for itself. BASKETBALL The Drummond Trojans of '46-'47 boasted a very good season ending with a 13 won, 13 lost record for the year. They had 970 points scored against them, while they chalked up 892 points against their opponents. Captain John Conn led the boys in scoring for the year with 319 points, followed by Bud Cumming, last year's leader, who scored 285. The team placed fourth in the annual District 15, Class B tournament held in Deer Lodge. SCHOOL PLAYS Annually in D. H. S. several plays are given under the direction of Miss Hawkins. Usually, there are two One-Act plays; one All-School play; and a Senior play, presented to obtain funds which the Seniors use in purchasing their going-away present for the school. TRIP TO WARM SPRINGS Every year, the Sociology class is given a day off to visit Warm Springs, Montana's State Hospital for the insane. Under the tutorship of Mrs. Warnke, this year, the students made the usual trip, accompanied by Mr. Sing. TRACK Each year, D. H. S., maintains a track team which competes with teams from adjoining districts. At this writing, the team is in training and Coach Leach looks forward to a very successful season with several of his lettermen back.
