As the school year progressed the band was in many parades including the Ball State Band Day, and the Christmas parades. They played for all the home football and basketball games. In October the Concert Choir, with the addition of many underclassmen, began warming up for the year's activities. Also, the girls' freshman chorus was started. In addition to the girls' ensemble, a new mixed ensemble was added. A highlight of the school year was the partici- pation of both the vocal department and the band department in the Christmas Vespers. 48 ON MUSIC 49 ENSEMBLE AND GLEE CLUB 50 51 NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SEATED, 1. tor.: Jane Diggs, Mrs. Loidl, Sponsor; Mary Alice Boomer, Secretary; Alan Kolp, V.-President; Mary Jane Engle, President; Nancy Slick, Treasurer; Suzanne Snyder.
