This is the space that an editor usually takes to talk about the yearbook. A yearbook - what the hell is a yearbook? l'm not about to start to talk dirty but,I've been carrying around this question for a long time now. What is a yearbook? What is it for? What should it do? lf I could have answered these questions easily probably the book would have been a year early instead of a year late. I set an impossible task of trying to represent what it felt like to be at Hahnemann the years we were here. We began with Moratorium day, Earth day, Kent State and finished with the scandals known as Watergate. While turbulence prevailed outside, our curriculum was ad-lib compared to those who came before and those who will come after. So I set upon this task and wound up with nearly a thousand pictures. A thousand! You can't put all those in one book. Actually the book is not for today. It's for the future. A memory of the past. There are many pictures, very few words and a feeling that will grow with the passing of time. By the way, most of the thousand pictures couldn't fit. I've still got them so look me up and we'll go through them. l hope this book is worth the wait. Richard Harlan Kaplan Editor 11
