For 'ren weeks afler ihal course, we plunged inlo Special Palhology, where nu'rmeg livers and flea-bi'r'ren kidneys abounded. The Junior year broughl Clinical Pafhology. l-lere we +es'red rows oi urine specimens and counled racks of blood smears. Throughoul 'rhe year, Dr. Sylvis also pounded Surgical Palh- ology info us and wondered if lhere had ever before been a class so lhick-headed. ln quick succession came Gynecological and Obslelrical Pafhology, wilh Dr. Favorile lec- luring solfly, Ophlhalmological Palhology in- Jreresfingly given by Dr. Snyder and orhers, and Dr. Fisher fascinalingly expounding Neuro-pafhology. Looking back on our Au- fopsy work, we wonder even now how we ever had ihe courage fo shakingly cu'r inlo a body so recenlly alive. And who will lorgef rising, whal seemed lo be in fhe middle of 'rhe nighf, lo barely make Dr. Sapping+on's 8:30 Immunology class, and how we marveled al 'the quirks of anaphylaxis.

And we were eager cusTomers, Tor aT lasT we had an excuse To procure and carry The emblem oT a physician. We carried our sTeThoscopes To class, making sure ThaT parT oT iT peelced ouT oT our pockeTs. BuT we were Tooledg The course Turned ouT To be reading The prinTed noTes and coloring each oTher like Indians. In The end we acTually goT To use The sTeThoscopes. The Term Minor Surgery gave To us an aTTiTude oT greaT imporT. As The whiTefhaired, elderly Dr. BrisTol enTered The lecTure room, his subTle sense oT humor came wiTh him. Many were The nuggeTsl' given ouT by him-many TundamenTals oT Surgery-To all ol which we were a TiTTIe unrecepTive. For This we regreT, because much oT ThaT TundamenTal lcnowledge could be puT To good use now and cerTainly will be useTul in The near TuTure. T-Tow To win paTienTs and inTluence Their Triends wiTh neaT bandagesw was The course TaughT by Drs. Buclc, Domansici and J. l-lunTer SmiTh. There was only one way each bondage wenT on as long as we wanTed To pass The course, buT laTer we learned ThaT any meThod was iusT as good if enough adhesive Tape was used.
