Yet in all cases the dedication speaks of the hand that has, indirectly at least, affected many of its pages and gives to that hand the credit for the good and lasting features that impress the casual reader. It is with this end in View that a writer speaks through his dedica- tion of the gratitude for the things received. a prelude to the Wider expression.
