Carsewell L Purkey The girls had a fine season, closing with a record of 19 wins and 5 losses, The team consisted of 7 Freshmen, 4 Sophomores, 3 Juniors, and 2 Seniors. At the start of the season, the team emerged victorious in the Western Miss- ouri Conference Tournament by defeating their opponent Midway by one. ln a spectacular, emotion-packed game, they once more defeated Midway, this time by 2 ponits, and secured a lst place trophy in the Archie Tournamnet. Later in the season, the girls fought their way through op- ponents in the Regional Tournament and acquired an oppor tunity to play for lst place, and advance into the play- offs. They were defeated by Midway by a score of 40 -22.
