We now have only 12 girls. We have continued the Sullivan reading pro- gram, with each student progressing at his own pace. We love cursive writing and began wo rking on it the first week of school. In Math we have advanced in addition and subtraction, and worked on multiplication and division, too. We love dramatics and have made puppets, put on plays, done pantornining, etc. We also have Social Studies and Science and Spel- ling. Music and art classes were spe- cial treats. We hope we are prepared for fourth grade next fall. Even the books have smaller print, less pictures, and more words on the pages, More independent work-- har- der, too--is expected of us. We must conquer our multiplica- tion facts in order to multiply by two, three, and even four factors. We di- vide long numbers, work with factors, and even some geometry, too. We studied how our country began and grew to large cities, grew crystals, erupted volcanoes, and made our own book on Missouri. You can tell we've grown physical- ly. We hope you can tell we've grown in other ways as well. Inez Anderson

Each day we read in our own level of Sul- livan readers. ln connection with reading skills we have spelling, lang- uage, and phonics lessons. Writing is most important and cursive writing is introduced the last quarter. Several new skills are learned in Math. Some of these are carrying, borrowing, and the start of multiplication. We also find time for some science and social studies. Music and Art classes are looked forward to and enjoyed by all. Second graders are still most eager to learn. This is a bright group who are good workers and bring much pleasure to their teacher. Elinor Tarwater L' sl, 7L.- Ap-yu E1-array,
